The Indian Army has awarded a major contract to IG Drones for the supply of indigenously developed VTOL and FPV drones, marking a significant milestone in India’s drive for self-reliance in defense manufacturing under the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. This development comes amid rising security threats along international borders, such as the hijacking of an Indian Army drone near the Pakistan border. IG Drones’ platforms are free from Chinese-origin components, addressing these security concerns.

Operation Sindoor, launched on May 7, 2025, targeted nine terrorist infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), as reported by The Times of India. During this operation, IG Drones played a crucial role by supplying its advanced VTOL and FPV drones to the Indian Army. A post on X by Bodhisattwa Sanghapriya on May 12, 2025, highlighted the company’s swift response, “Shipped Overnight. For the Nation. With Precision.” These drones were instrumental in providing real-time intelligence and surveillance, enabling the Army to execute precise strikes while minimizing risks to personnel. How are IG Drones Used in Infrastructure Development & Disaster Management?

The company has undertaken projects such as pipeline inspection at NTPC Darlipali Thermal Power Station and drone surveying for the Panna Diamond Mining Project with the National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC).
