Spotlight on Odisha’s Achievements in Tourism
Odisha’s ascent in the tourism sector is driven by compelling data. In 2023, the state welcomed over 15 million tourists, marking a significant increase from previous years and reflecting its robust growth. Tourism contributes approximately 2.5% to Odisha’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), emphasizing its economic importance. The Odisha Travel Bazaar has played a pivotal role in this success, with past editions boosting tourist arrivals by an estimated 20% annually. The 5th edition alone facilitated over 80 B2B meetings, leading to partnerships that promoted Odisha’s eco-tourism and heritage sites.
Key destinations like Puri’s beaches have seen a 30% rise in visitors over the past five years, while eco-tourism hubs like Simlipal National Park report a 25% increase in footfall. The Odisha Travel Bazaar 2025 aims to build on these figures, targeting engagement with over 150 travel operators and generating substantial business leads.
